About the role

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will play a key role as an interpreter and facilitator between the Development, Quality Assurance, IT teams, and business partners. You will be part of a small team whose mission is to create and continuously improve a test data management and testing capability tool to make our Development and Quality Assurance teams faster, more autonomous, and more efficient.

The product covers two complementary components:

  • Test data management and creation, including the creation of anonymized insurance policies via internal tools to be enhanced.

  • A WireMock-based Mock Server, usable through a UI interface or via the backend (API), enabling REST and GraphQL responses to be mocked in order to stabilize and speed up testing (integration, E2E, regression).

Our solution is developed in Kotlin (a Java background is sufficient to succeed in the role).

What you'll do here:

In addition to classic BA activities:

  • Gather and formalize the needs of Dev/QA teams for the Mock Server: use cases (dynamic mocks, matching rules, scenarios, latency, errors, versions), governance, and best practices.

  • Define UI and API (backend) user journeys: creating/managing mocks, enabling/disabling, environment-based management, sharing and reuse.

  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria covering REST and GraphQL (queries, headers, payload, variables, status codes, timeouts).

  • Collaborate with developers to frame functional/technical choices around WireMock (templates, mappings, priorities, recordings, etc.) and ensure alignment with QA needs.

  • Contribute to the acceptance testing strategy and to validating mock scenarios (including happy path + error cases).

What you bring to the table:

  • Experience in a web environment and understanding of API integrations.

  • Strong knowledge of REST and a good understanding of GraphQL (or a strong ability to ramp up).

  • Comfortable in a technical context; Kotlin is a plus, Java is sufficient.

  • Bilingualism (French and English) - Need to interact regularly with colleagues from across the country.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
