The Investment Specialist is a hybrid senior, market-facing commercial role accountable for accelerating investment product revenue growth on Manulife’s Group Retirement Services platform in Canada.

The core mandate of the role is to influence asset allocation decisions and investment solution selection by advisors, consultants, and plan sponsors to improve overall platform economics and increase Manulife Investment Management’s share of net flows.

This role operates at the intersection of investment expertise, commercial execution, and distribution enablement, with explicit accountability for driving proprietary product adoption while maintaining a balanced, credible open-architecture platform with third-party managers.

Objectifs principaux

  • Accelerate investment product net revenue growth through increased proprietary and strategic partner fund adoption

  • Influence investment menu design, defaults, and reallocations to improve customer outcomes and platform economics

  • Support platform simplification, fund rationalization, and pricing discipline efforts across Canada Retirement

Responsabilités du poste

Investment Product Revenue Growth & Asset Allocation Influence

  • Own and execute an annual investment product revenue growth plan aligned with Canada Retirement targets

  • Lead high-impact investment discussions with advisors, consultants, and plan sponsors with a focus on influencing asset allocation outcomes

  • Drive inter-fund transfers and in-force asset repositioning where appropriate

Commercial Partnership with Distribution

  • Partner with Account Executives and Client Relationship Managers to uncover and prioritize high-impact opportunities

  • Convert investment discussions into asset capture and flows

Internal Enablement & Execution Support

  • Conduct and facilitate internal training on priority investment solutions to ensure engagement, alignment and enhance product knowledge

  • Provide field feedback to product and distribution teams

Platform Economics & Third-Party Manager Engagement

  • Support fund rationalization, mergers and replacement initiatives

  • Balance open-architecture credibility with platform economics

Investment Narrative & Market Influence

  • Position Manulife as a solutions-oriented investment partner

  • Deliver consistent and high-impact investment narratives tied to performance, fees, and governance

Qualifications requises

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline

  • CFA designation strongly preferred

  • Bilingual in English and French required

  • 10+ years of experience in investment solutions, institutional sales, or retirement distribution

  • Strong understanding of DC retirement plans and investment governance

  • Strong relationships within the group retirement Consultant and Advisor market
