Summer job for student - Technical Services / Biomedical Engineering and Equipment Planning Clerk

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary

Under the supervision of the Manager of the Biomedical Engineering Department, the incumbent will work on a project in equipment management.

General Duties

  • Develop equipment lists for laboratories, platforms, and clinical research,
  • Updates information relative to the listed equipment into a database application,
  • Obtains information relating to the listed equipment from manufacturers or suppliers and stores these documents in a systematic fashion in an electronic storage system,
  • Compiles and structures manuals, certificates, and other data relevant to the Technical Services Division into a database as necessary,
  • Assists with Biomedical and research equipment maintenance activities,
  • Reviews applications for Biomedical and research equipment acquisitions,
  • Performs other duties as required by the supervisor.

  • Student of CEGEP or university level,
  • Bilingual French and English (spoken and written),
  • Sound knowledge of general office routines,
  • Detail-oriented,
