L3Harris MAPPS Integrated Platform Management system (IPMS) running on board various military ships throughout the world is built using software developed by L3Harris MAPPS.

The incumbent will lead the teams responsible for the upgrade and support of the current CORE software component of the IPMS and the development of the new generation of CORE for all future IPMS projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the development of the new CORE and participate in the analysis of the requirements and decomposition into various items for distribution among the team;
• Evaluate CORE related issues reported by customer and determine the best course of action to debug and resolve the issues;
• Plan and assign the work to the teams in order to meet the various deadlines;
• Work in close collaboration with other groups of the Marine System Department and ensure that the CORE capabilities are meeting all their needs;
• Support the Proposal and Business Development teams during proposal phase of the project;
• Responsible of all administrative tasks related to the group.

REQUIREMENTS

• University degree in either electrical, software or computer engineering with over 15 years+ of experience in the following areas, or equivalent;
• Design, development and integration of real-time control system in a distributed environment;
• Good knowledge of communication protocols used to interface to various controllers and other peripherals (MODBUS, CanBus, Profibus, Profinet, NMEA, OPC);
• Experience with data acquisition system and local controllers (VME based, PLC : Wago, Beckhoff, Siemens, Alan Bradly);
• Experience with DDSproduct from RTI is preferable;
• Excellent knowledge of network architecture and tool used for network data analysis (Wireshark);
• Expert in some of these programming languages : C, C++, ADA, scripting languages;
• Excellent knowledge of Windows and Linux OS, particularly with the implementation of tasking, multithread, priorities within these OS;
• Good knowledge of software safety development process (SIL-2) and safety certified OS (Integrity / Green Hills);
• Experience with software monitoring tools for static and dynamic analysis like LDRA, VectorCast;
• Experience in the development and usage of the L3Harris IPMS product is preferable;
• Has proven leadership (5+ years) in supervising a team of software developers;
• Well organized and capable of planning / distributing work among the team;
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
• Bilingual French and English with excellent written and spoken skills.
