The Manager, Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation - Network Planning (NP), reports into the Director, Schedule Integrity.
As a key player in the strategic development and execution of the OTP Schedule Optimizer project, this individual will articulate business objectives, translate business requirements, identify stakeholders, lead subject matters experts, define success metrics, share development progress, experiment outcomes, model results with business & management teams and provide strategic recommendations to Network Planning and Operations on schedule design parameters and execution
Responsibilities :
- Work closely with sponsor and product owner on defining and detailing business objectives
- Translate business needs into advanced analytics language and reversely, the outcomes of AI into business implications, validating that the desired outcomes are achieved
- Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the business objectives, processes, practices and challenges of the Network Planning Department, both from planning and scheduling perspective
- Responsible for the definition and implementation of key metrics to ensure project success during development and post implementation
- Work closely with the Operations AI counterpart to be able to build a comprehensive understanding of how our airline works from schedule design to execution, and thereby build the proper use cases
- Develop and maintain a permanent link with the business teams throughout the project steps, communicating analytics proposition to business stakeholders to gather feedback.
- Provide direction, guidance, and support to subject matter experts and the analytics team, ensuring data validations and model reviews are provided correctly and within the allotted time.
- Responsible for ensuring use cases are properly executed and documented by the data engineers, data scientists, designers, business process designers as well as inputs of multiple end-user stakeholders.
- Communicate project status and update executives, senior management and other stakeholders on progress, and keep them engaged
- Participate in the development of adequate visualizations (UI / UX) to present actionable results to the business stakeholders and maximize adoption of the solution.
- Participate in the quality assurance and testing of the application.
- Once project is completed, become the residing expert of the OTP Schedule Optimizer tool and AI processes for NP, responsible for maintaining it and potentially work on future phases and improvements to the tool
- Manage a team of Schedule Integrity Analysts, whose role is to manage and optimize schedule design parameters, in addition to calibrating the OTP tool, working closely with the IT Maintenance teams
- Post implementation, continuously provide strategic recommendations and key insights to Network Planning and to Operations on schedule design parameters, and operational stress points thereby minimizing potential pain points in the schedule and maximizing our OTP, passenger connection success and profitability.
Qualifications
- University degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience, ideally across multiple roles
- 3+ years of airline experience, with Network Planning experience as a valuable asset
- Experience in data science or coding is an asset.
- Action / results oriented, highly analytical & organized with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent written / verbal communication skills, strong desire to work in cross functional teamsHands-on team player who is interested in continuously learning skills and new technologies
- Ability to prioritize heavy workloads in a dynamic business environment
- Ability to see the bigger picture and think outside the box, finding creative solutions
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Strong results orientation and sense of ownership
