Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated computer science or softwareengineering professional to join CN’s Multimodal team. As part of thedevelopment team, your role is to design, develop and maintain CN’s Roadoperations applications suite.

The main application is a client / serverapplication with the front-end developed in .NET (C# and Visual Basic) and C++and Oracle back-end.

In addition to that, the landscape comprises middlewaremessaging, microservices, APIs and mobile applications.

You will understand the innerworkings of CN’s Road operationsapplications and support our end users : understand and solve raised issues,work closely with business users to optimize CN’s operations.

You will workwith colleagues from different Multimodal applications and you will coordinatetesting efforts, build implementation plans to deploy changes to production andbecome a subject matter expert guiding architecture and project initiatives tomake the right decisions.

Responsibilities :

Developand maintain software written in Visual C++ and Oracle PL / SQL.

Develop and maintain software written in .NET (C# and Visual Basic),

• Diagnose,troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
• Provideaccurate estimates and deliver as per commitment
• Documentand execute unit testing while ensuring end to end functionality.
• Supportapplication during stabilization period and participate in transfer to coreactivities.
• Prepareand execute implementation plans for the artifacts to be deployed in production.
• Participatein a 24 / 7 support call rotation.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’sin computer science or equivalent.
• StrongVisual C++ and . Net C# programming skills.
• Verygood knowledge of Oracle PL / SQL (working experience).
• Solidunderstanding of data structures, algorithms, multi-threading, andobject-oriented programming.
• Softwareengineering mindset re-use before building new.
• Stronganalytical and communication skills.

Assets :

• Transportationand / or Multimodal business knowledge, mobile applications, network.
• Goodunderstanding of APIs, microservices and cloud programming.

Work Conditions :

• Offhours support duty on a rotation basis.
• Possibilityof occasional travel in Canada and the United States (
