The opportunity

The Gildan Internship Program 2023 offers students the opportunity to participate in stimulating projects and gain valuable experience that will help them transition to the workplace.

Our summer internship program will take place from May 15th to August 11th, 2023. The intern’s role will be mainly to :

• Review the current set of key performance indicator (KPI) used by the team to track performance
• Improve and automate the collection and consolidation of such performance indicators (ie. : access management indicators, security vulnerabilities indicators, server and workstation compliance ) over a central database system (ie. : SQL server).
• Create shareable dashboard using data visualization software (ie. : Tableau).
• Create data source connectivity and develop sql statement and ETL procedures as needed.
• Improve KPI collection and tracking documentation processes.
• Document technical solution and related procedures.

The role

• Reduce time and complexity in consolidating various data source.
• Create a central database and system for key performance indicator data.
• Produce trend dashboard and tracking system against the consolidated database.

What you bring to the role

Knowledge & Professional Experience

• Computer science with an interest in data visualization, SQL and business intelligence (BI)
• Completed at least 2nd year in an undergraduate program
• Currently studying in a field related with the department in which the internship is offered
• Relevant course work / projects / experience in the field of interest, OR relevant leadership or community involvement experience.

Attributes

• Strong interest in data visualization, SQL and business intelligence (BI)
• SQL query development
• Knowledge of ETL
• PowerShell scripting
