Job Level
NV-10Linguistic Services provides centralized translation, editing, advisory and proof-reading services to Desjardins. We’re passionate about the way Desjardins communicates both internally and with our members and clients.
We’re growing and innovating to help Desjardins communicate even better.
Linguistic Services is looking for a team leader for its English Translation team. As team leader, you’re responsible for a team of 12 French to English translators who work primarily in Ontario and Quebec.
You help with hiring, coach for performance, help to plan and provide training, and support employee engagement.
Responsible for developing internal partner relationships, you work with other members of the team to implement and follow-up on surveys.
You focus on solutions and take responsibility for partner education and dialogue.
You work with management and other senior members of the team to support all members of Linguistic Services as we integrate and leverage post-editing.
As a member of the Communications and Change Management Division, you work on Divisional projects as needed.
General Information on the Position
Main responsibilities
Help determine your team’s service offer and ensure your projects and activities are planned and executed
Coach and support
Develop training and skills development strategies and action plans for team members
Work with colleagues to deploy and follow-up on partner surveys
Play a non-decision-making role in hiring, performance management, discipline, and skills development
Help to manage the department budget
Provide support to internal and external partners as needed.
Other working conditions
Workplace : Position located in Montreal or Toronto depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid #LI-Hybrid

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
A minimum of six years of relevant experience in management or other relevant experience
Experience working with translators and CAT tools
Agency experience (an asset)
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience will be considered
Hold a Canadian Editors’ Association, ATIO or OTTIAQ certification (an asset)
For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required
Specific knowledge
Strong communication skills in French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and / or clients
