Job description

Your role As Director, Experiences and Partnerships, you direct, plan and co-ordinate all activities led by your department.

In alignment with strategic goals, you are responsible for developing partnerships, experiential / event marketing activities and cultural mediation initiatives to effectively reach audiences.

This includes defining and implementing strategies to maximize the reach of the brand and all related properties as well as to deepen Canadians’ connection and engagement with the public broadcaster. Key responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership in the strategic and operational management of all activities led by your department, including major Radio-Canada partnerships, all manner of events targeting a variety of audiences, brand activations, brand events and experiences, activities for school groups, guided tours of Maison de Radio-Canada and tapings before a live studio audience.
  • Determine strategic directions, annual targets, the event calendar and timelines for Experiences and Partnerships while ensuring proper management of human, financial and physical resources.
  • Provide your own and other in-house teams with strong, collaborative leadership to unite them behind major partnership initiatives and special events.
  • Cultivate close strategic relationships with partners in the creative industry; develop and operationalize partnership agreements aligned with the Corporation’s strategic objectives to ensure optimal positioning, reach, visibility, audience engagement and a strong connection with Canadians.
  • Develop and ensure the effectiveness of partnership strategies and activation plans.
  • Develop, in conjunction with in-house teams, media plans, promotional actions and special content for partners across all Radio-Canada platforms.
  • Represent Radio-Canada proactively by attending networking activities and engaging in outreach with partners and communities of interest.
  • Guide programming and technical teams in developing specials and remotes in connection with partnerships or events under your leadership;

co-ordinate needs and location scouting.

  • Oversee the development and operationalization of cultural mediation and brand outreach activities, as well as the organization and production of brand events and experiences for the general public (logistics, technical / technology requirements, content, agreements, royalty negotiations, etc.).
  • Oversee the management of production and event spaces under your responsibility, including Studio R, the Atrium and Place de Radio-Canada.
  • Oversee, in conjunction with all stakeholders, the development and day-to-day management of the Radio-Canada Éxpériences website, as well as the in-house display system and digital monitors.
  • Review the performance of activities under your leadership against stated objectives and hold post-mortems to optimize future events.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following :

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Over 10 years’ relevant communications experience in a similar role, ideally in the media industry.
  • Proven experience as an advisor, negotiator and experiential / event marketing specialist.
  • Proven experience managing teams and creating a positive work environment.
  • Good knowledge of the creative community and sponsorship industry.
  • Outstanding communication skills in order to build and maintain quality relationships.
  • Ability to identify strategic issues as well as anticipate innovative, effective solutions.
  • Influential leadership and ability to foster participatory collaboration.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to be adaptable and manage stress under tight deadlines.
  • Availability to work on events involving irregular hours and / or long shifts.
  • English / French bilingualism an asset.
