Are you a self-starter and a strong problem solver who is passionate about safety? In this temporary four month position, you are accountable for safely and efficiently completing sampling, analytical and quality control work within our Montreal Refinery laboratory.

This is an entry-level union position in the laboratory where you will support the department and internal customers by providing analytical, instrumental, and technical problem solving.

You will perform various analyses such as : gravity, flash point, vapor pressure, viscosity, conductivity, corrosion, distillation, flow point, and freezing point.

Minimum Requirements :

2 years of experience working with field samples or in a lab environment and / or a two year diploma in chemical analysis, chemical engineering or chemical processes

Good understanding of laboratory safe work practices

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Excellent communication skills in French both oral and written please submit your resume in French

Responsibilities :

Take samples of the intermediate and finished product tanks

Record samples collected in the system and apply the appropriate labels

Take initiative while performing routine and project based sampling and analytical work on petroleum and wastewater samples

Improve reporting of analytical results in compliance with established quality assurance and quality control procedures

Ensure the rotation and disposal of monthly samples

Show commitment and dedication to safe work practices, procedures and standards

Location and other Key Details :

You will work out of our Montréal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East

Follows a 12-hour rotating shift schedule : 2-2-3 (Days and Nights) with the possibility of overtime, depending on business needs

You will be required to perform some heavy lifting and work in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor
