You will assume a leadership role when interacting with various stakeholders (your team and internal partners) on projects involving English content for Desjardins.com.
You lead complex and innovative development projects and strategic initiatives involving linguistic services. Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your specialty area.
You make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives that require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business.
Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in many other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential.
You serve as specialist advisor and subject matter expert, as well as resource person and coach for decision-making bodies.
General Information on the Position
Lead specialized development projects, initiatives and activities that significantly impact the entire organization
Advise clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute, and monitor strategic translation projects and initiatives
Translate and adapt digital content in collaboration with the members of a multidisciplinary team, particularly with user experience (UX) writers and specialists
Apply UX, SEO and accessibility best practices when translating and adapting digital content
Proactively Identify, analyze, and diagnose potential challenges, needs and problems as well as opportunities for improving a user’s experience with strategic digital content
Revise translations and adaptations to ensure quality and overall consistency of English content
Develop and apply expertise transfer strategies and take on the role of mentor when needed
Develop, update and distribute the digital style guide, whose audience is anyone who writes, revises or translates into English at Desjardins
Support the team leader in their duties
Assist with the recruitment of new translators (testing, interviews, etc.)
Ensure that practices, procedures, methodologies and tools are used efficiently while working to achieve the department's objectives
Determine and recommend improvements to work methods and processes and develop working tools with fellow team members
Guarantee that the terminology used is consistent with the best practices used in the business and digital fields, more specifically in the financial services industry, while taking into account Desjardins Group’s specific characteristics.

Workplace : Position located in Lévis or Montreal, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid work
Number of jobs available : 1
Bachelor’s degree in translation or a related field
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Experience working in an agile-based work environment (an asset)

Hold ATIO or OTTIAQ certification (an asset)
For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required
Proficiency in specialized digital, business and cooperative terminology
Knowledge of the principles of UX writing, SEO and accessibility
Knowledge of professional linguistic environment practices, standards and conditions
Knowledge of the industry
Knowledge of MemoQ (an asset)
Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with (language)-speaking partners, members and / or clients.
