Job Summary

The Manager, Asset Management is responsible forleading a team of Software & Hardware Asset Management subject matterexpertise (SMEs) and Administrators to provide a structured & well governedcontrol of I&Ts Assets for CN.

The role is accountable for creation and maintenance of the ITAMgovernance team that will be accountable for policy creation, standards &controls for software & hardware;

day to day operations of asset managementrequests; and the maintenance of trustworthy software and hardware assetrecords for in-scope I&T software and hardware products in ServiceNow.

Main Responsibilities

ITAM Process Ownership

Understand and clearly articulate the dependencies and interfaces of ITAM with other processes Application Portfolio Management, Demand Management, IT Service Management, Cybersecurity, Configuration Management, Governance Risk & Compliance

Ensure proper staffing and training for execution of ITAM governance

Ensure consistent execution of the ITAM process across the organization

Identify process redesign and improvement opportunities

Lead the SAM & HAM governance meetings

Meet regularly with ServiceNow Platform Owner & other Process Owners to sponsor and continually improve the processes and their integrations

Ensure ITAM goals & strategy are aligned with corporate strategy & mandates

Monitor, measure, and report on the effectiveness of the SAM & HAM processes to senior management

Promote value of ITAM process within the organization

Operations Asset Management

Ensure license compliance for products

Gather and report on process metrics & KPIs

Document and maintain software & hardware asset processes, policies and procedures

Support software publisher audits, renewals & true-ups and provide with data insights from ServiceNow SAM Pro when available.

Ensure asset team provides required data and facilitates the monthly SAM / HAM Governance Meeting

In the Planning Stages for new projects, make sure projects align with SAM / HAM Policies and that licensing requirements are incorporated into costs during introduction to operations and addressed at the beginning.

Ensure consistent monitoring of software license dashboards for compliance of products onboarded to ServiceNow

Ensure monthly analysis and reconciliation reports are provided to determine required actions to address non-compliant software installations.

Ensure analysis of software usage reports and establish removal rules for infrequently used software

Review utilization reports to identify optimization opportunities & reclamation candidates in ServiceNow

Create entitlement records in ServiceNow SAM Pro for in-scope I&T products (importing template & running reconciliation)

Participate in software publisher renewals, true-ups, and audits by reviewing compliance position & supporting data with the ITAM Team.

Approve non-standard software requests associated with portfolio.

Responsible for maintaining trustworthy software asset records within the SAM Pro, including Software Discovery Models, Software Product Models and Software Entitlement

Ensure knowledge is preserved through cross-training for key skill sets in the team (knowledge transfer)

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an officeenvironment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday.

Experience

Technical Support Environment

Minimum 10 years of experience in an asset management specialist or management role.

Assets

Working knowledge of fundamental operations of IT service management relevant software

Education / Certification / Designation

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

ITIL Foundations 2011

Technical Skills / Knowledge

Facilitated training for SAM, HAM, Contract, and APM (focused on dashboards & governance)

Understanding software license agreements & license metrics associated with software being managed

ServiceNow SAM Fundamentals (paid course)

Configuration Management tools in complex distributed environment

Asset and Lifecycle Management in large complex environment

Experience in data modeling

Knowledge of corporate organization structure : operational environments & processes
