Duties may include but not limited to
- Supervise and mentor a team (of 2) to ensure that proper protocols are maintained and that quality-assurance procedures are followed
- Own the entire product-life cycle
- Be responsible for managing commodities from concept, design, sample production, cost, mass production, promotion, and support, through to final product and ensure that supply-chain is followed
- Anticipate problems related to product development and establish short and long-term action-plans to resolve problems and respect delivery timelines
- Responsible for new product growth initiatives and efforts to improve positioning
- Direct design development team for packaging and product spec sheets; follow up on sample submissions, lead approvals of colors, fabrics and accessories as defined by design and maintain records of all approvals
- Promote company initiatives to ensure maximum productivity and compliance with policies and procedures
- Conduct weekly meetings and send status reports to entire team
- Execute development calendar
- Communicate with production team on daily basis to ensure that questions are answered, production is on time and to update activities related to vendors
- Develop / maintain pipeline of product by driving continued innovation and trends
- Perform trend market analysis to determine white space and identify new business opportunities; research trade shows to identify market trends;
study retail assortments
- Analyze Time-and-Action Planning Reports from vendors and resolve any issues
- Communicate daily with overseas suppliers; negotiate vendor pricing
- Direct Design / Product Development / Sourcing with input in order to create and execute line extensions and product introductions
- Work cross-functionally with sales teams and build product roadmap / develop private licensed brands as well as customers from high end, specialty retailers to discount and off-price channels
- Be available to travel overseas
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Management experience
- The ability to prioritize, manage various projects, and meet multiple deadlines
- Strategist and conceptualistic thinking
- Impeccable follow-up skills and significant organizational skills
- Have detailed knowledge of protocols and excellent understanding of the product-development process
- Solid negotiator and vendor management skills
- The ability to build strong business relationships within team and in a cross functional environment
- Solutions-oriented and complete in-depth analysis to recommend best decisions
- Trend forecasting and design oriented
