The individual in this role will be responsible for strengthening and evolving the sales and support strategy for IA Private Wealth’s SMA platform.

The priority will be to build and expand relationships with IA Private Wealth’s full-service financial advisors, with the objective of growing assets in the SMA program.

The role will help build out a sales and support framework and will have a deep understanding of the Canadian full-service advice channel, as well as a strong understanding of the mechanics and proper implementation of SMA / UMA platforms as well as an understanding of the principles of proper portfolio construction.

The single report is another sales / relationship professional.

Planning and Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of a sales and support strategy for the iAPW SMA platform. This includes the implementation of national sales plan to meet annual growth and retention targets
  • Have a deep understanding of the existing SMA platform and understand best practices around advisor implementation
  • Provide strategic direction and business planning for IAPW’s SMA platform
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures by identifying potential gaps and providing input and recommendations on product launches and initiatives

Sales and Service

  • Drive flows into IAPW’s SMA platform through coaching and education related to the practice management opportunities SMAs present.
  • Foster a sales culture of goal achievement and superior customer satisfaction.
  • Champion all opportunities to enhance advisor of SMAs.
  • Keep current with sales technology and tracking systems.

Relationship Management

  • Establish and manage advisor relationships and develop an ongoing support framework
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the rest of the SMA support team on market conditions and trends to maintain a high level of environmental awareness.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and threats
  • Establish and leverage relationships with internal and external partners to develop a pipeline for leads and so the partners understand what is expected of them

Your career path looks like this

Knowledge :

  • Strong relationship management skills and sales strategy experience
  • Strong understanding of the business of the Canadian full-service advice space, in addition to a strong understanding of the benefits of SMAs and how advisors are implementing them into their practice
  • Minimum 7 years of brokerage, financial planning or related investment sales experience, including minimum 3 years in a wholesaling or related role
  • CIM or CFA and PM registration are desired, but not mandatory
  • In-depth knowledge of portfolio construction, asset allocation and capital market dynamics, with experience coaching advisors on the principles of proper portfolio construction
