Job Description

Summary :

Assemble mechanical parts, sub-assemblies or full assemblies using a variety of small hand-held tools, screwdrivers, torque wrenches and other jigs and fixtures in accordance with written instructions, drawing and/or as per specifications as part of a production line in a manufacturing organization.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Read, interpret and follow engineering drawings, specifications.
  • Understand and able to follow written work instructions or procedures.
  • Accurately assemble products such as displays, keyboards, type IV panels, light guides, cables, sub-assemblies in accordance with the above.
  • Prepare and work with various adhesives and epoxies as part of the assembly process.
  • Utilize hand-held tools such as magnifying tools, microscope to work with small parts and components.
  • Auto-inspect work to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation (non-conformance reports) when defects are identified as per internal quality processes.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Position Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years mechanical assembly experience in aerospace or similar industry.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Must be able to follow directions.
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Physical Requirements :

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
