This role is part of our business unit working on original games. These teams focus on the creation, development, and maintenance of Behaviour-owned IPs such as Dead by Daylight and Meet Your Maker and other unannounced titles in development.

We're seeking a Senior Technical Animator to keep shaping our award winning IP Dead by Daylight and redefine player engagement experiences.

The technical animator is the person whose work allows animator to leverage their skills. They use their strong knowledge of Technical Animation principles to create the structure that animators need to bring characters to life according to design requirements.

The technical animator has the knowledge to create well-thought-of and optimized structures depending on production constraints.

They share their experience working with polygonal structures of models to get the best possible deformation and follows up with animators to validate the quality and relevance of their work. In this role you will :

  • Understand the technical development vision in animation;
  • Work within the technical restraints;
  • Suggest new tools and best practices;
  • Maintain strong communication with animators, designers and programmers;
  • Support animators to optimize the integration and use of animations in engine;
  • Support the rigging team.

What we're looking for :

  • Five years’ experience in any Engine, Unreal is a plus;
  • In-depth knowledge of 3D animation;
  • Willingness to explore new software and technical animation advances with curiosity;
  • Proficiency with Maya animation software is considered an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of AnimGraph, State Machine, Blueprint, Dynamics;
  • Be a mentor to the technical animation team;
  • Experience with motion capture is considered an asset;
  • Proficiency in French and English.
