The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to establish and characterize 3D bioengineered models of autoimmune inflammatory diseases .

General Duties

  • Obtain human tissue from surgical team,
  • Establish functional models using commercially available cell lines and / or human primary tissue,
  • Design of laboratory experiments using diverse laboratory techniques including microscopy, biochemical techniques and molecular biology,
  • Critically assess experimental data,
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, manuscripts and grant applications.

Education / Experience

Education : Doctorate Degree

Field of Study : Cell / molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, immunology, experimental medicine or related field

Other education considered an asset for this position :

Work Experience :

Experience working with cell culture, preferably with primary cell lines and human tissue,

Experience in molecular biology, microscopy and other basic laboratory methods,

Knowledge of inflammatory pathways.
