Reporting to the IT Site Coordinator, the IT technician provides on-site and remote support to users of our Sherbrooke LDC site.

They ensure the proper functioning of the computer equipment and services supporting the plant's operations and collaborates with other IT teams and business users.


The IT Technician reports directly to the IT Site Regional Lead.


  • Works closely with the IT Site Coordinator and other departments to implement a successful IT plan.
  • Assists in the implementation of the IT plan and trains the individuals who will need to use it.
  • Diagnoses and resolves issues when computers or other technologies are not working as they should.
  • Assists the IT Site Coordinator with multiple internal and external (vendors) with patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Assists with maintenance of computers and other forms of technology.
  • Contributes to the knowledge base in the ITSM tool.
  • Receives customer feedback to improve the products and services we deliver.
  • Maintains site assets inventory system.
  • Any other duties as directed by the IT Site Coordinator or IT Site Regional Lead.



A diploma in a recognized post-secondary program in computer technology.


  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in a similar position
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing technical software / hardware issues.
  • Experience communicating with and working with third-party vendor support (ie. Software issues).
  • Basic knowledge of technical support tools.
  • Experience in a customer or client facing role.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with the following :

oDesktop equipment

oWindows Servers

oWindows Operating Systems

oOffice Suite


oActive Directory

  • Basic knowledge of network technologies (LAN, WAN, WiFi, DNS, TCP / IP, SNMP, DHCP)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity trends
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook and MS Teams


  • Able to understand and navigate in multiple different technologies.
  • Good attention to detail matched with a keen sense of discovery and investigation.
  • Ability to interact with technical and non-technical people.
  • Solution-driven with an excellent customer focus and able to adapt quickly to change in business priorities.
  • Good analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills combined with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks and demands.


  • Bilingualism (FR / EN) is required in some locations (written and spoken communication
  • On-call rotational schedule and potential afterhours support.

Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
