What you’ll do

  • Revise and sometimes translate general and technical material from English to French.
  • Participate in the training of translators by commenting your revisions and providing tips and advice, and by growing the term bank.
  • Effectively use translation tools (LogiTerm, Alexa Translations A.I.) and the FlowFit project management system in your daily work.
  • Collaborate with internal clients and other members of Language Services to produce translations that meet our members’ needs.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in translation or related field
  • Seven or more years of experience in translation from English to French in a supervised environment, preferably in the fields of accounting and business, and proven experience as a senior translator
  • Very strong French writing skills, critical thinking skills, good general knowledge, attention to detail, quality-driven, resourcefulness
  • High proficiency in English (excellent reading comprehension skills and solid oral expression skills)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams)
  • Proficiency with CAT tools, openness to neural machine translation tools and working knowledge of translation project management tools (e.g., FlowFit)
  • Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, ability to quickly grasp new concepts and acquire new knowledge
  • Customer-centric, excellent communication skills, great team player

Membership in OTTIAQ or another recognized professional association of translators is an asset.
