Reporting to the Director of the legal department, the legal counsel will be responsible for all matters pertaining to privacy, litigation andemployment law.

The legal counsel will also be responsible for drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.

Responsibilities and Duties Include :

Provide guidance to the Human Capital department regarding employment and health and safety laws and regulations.

Conduct, manage or support work-related investigations

  • Research and provide legal opinions on a variety of issues related to the business and our operations;
  • Draft and review contracts with suppliers and customers worldwide;
  • Interact with and provid guidance to internal stakeholders with respect to third party agreements;

Take a leadership position with respect to managing litigation issues arising from employment law and general commercial cases, in collaboration with external counsel.

  • Take a leadership position and provide legal advice and guidance on privacy-related matters to internal stakeholders;
  • Conduct legal assessments of data processing activities;
  • Support various departments in completing data processing activity assessments and implementing required controls;
  • Assist with training development, templates and other educational resources;
  • Prepare and maintain internal reports on the privacy office's activities;

Draft various legal document including policies, procedures and other documents in various area.

Stay up to date of relevant laws and regulations that apply to the organization and monitor changes that may impact the organization.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience as in-house counsel or in a major law firm in litigation, employment law and privacy;
  • Privacy certifications are an asset;

Demonstrated knowledge of privacy and employment law

Good understanding of contract law : reviewing and drafting supplier and customer contracts;
