JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Development Manager holds the responsibility for cultivating significant accounts and achieving individual sales targets.

Reporting directly to executive management, this role serves as the cornerstone for driving profitable business expansion within the division and fostering sales growth.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE :

General

  • Develop lasting relationships with customers.
  • Create and execute a strategic plan to collaborate with medium to large retailers.
  • Actively participate in product development meetings.
  • Identify and close new business opportunities with medium to large retailers in different economic segments.
  • Prepare trade reports and presentations for the executive team.
  • Collaborate with management to brainstorm and develop new product concepts or private label offerings tailored to various markets.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in sales and business development.
  • Represent the company at relevant trade shows.

Organizational

  • Devising a sales growth action plan that aligns with the company's objectives;
  • Collaborate with management to generate new product concepts and private-label offerings
  • Offer strategic sales advice to the senior executive team;
  • Monitoring industry trends, and informing the management of relevant changes in the market;

Other related tasks

  • Work with purchasing and key suppliers to negotiate better costs;
  • Assist with the marketing initiatives;
  • Assist the credit manager in providing feedback on overdue accounts;
  • Work together with other departments as required to resolve any issues.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing, or a related field;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in business development; with a track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets*;
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close;
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional communication skills;
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality;
  • The ability to identify opportunities and close a sale with C-level executives;
  • A desire to take ownership and responsibility for the whole sales process;
  • Self-motivated and driven;
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
  • Fluent in both English and French (verbal and written)
  • Any other combination of relevant experience may be considered.
