What to Expect :

The Specialist, Translation translates all documents assigned to Linguistic Services, from English to French and occasionally from French to English, conveying the original message as faithfully as possible through a judicious choice of concepts and with due regard to cultural aspects.

In doing so, the successful candidate must ensure the accuracy of content, quality of form, and correctness of terminology.

Additionally, when the material is of a marketing nature, adapt the content (rather than translating it) to target the market better.

What you will do :

Translates or reviews a wide variety of documents (memos, letters, announcements, forms, manuals, marketing and selling strategies, visual merchandising guidelines, product knowledge, HR programs, video scripts, press releases, systems, packaging, marketing flyers and other promotional material, website merchandise descriptions and marketing content, credit and rewards documentation, etc.

Adapt the French file layout in the original format / software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)

Inputs and updates all required project information in the Translation Management System

Review translated work done by internal translators or freelancers and provide feedback

Proof external vendors’ material and provide constructive and educational feedback

Creates new terminological records and updates the terminology database

Contacts requesters to ask information when needed, and answers questions from internal or external clients

From time to time, completes any other tasks to support the leadership or the project management team

What you will bring to the team :

University degree in translation (English to French)

1 to 3 years of experience as a translator

Experience in marketing translation (an asset)

Excellent knowledge of the source language and mastery of the target language are a must

Very strong communication skills

Versatility to deal with a great variety of texts

Ability to evaluate and prioritize tasks

Proficiency in various software : Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Computer-Aided Translation tools (MemoQ, SDL Trados, Logiterm), Adobe Creative (InDesign and Illustrator), translation management systems (FlowFit)

Interest for new technologies

Knowledge of most recognized terminological data bases, dictionaries, specialized vocabularies and translation-related on-line resources

Knowledge of most recognized French language standards sources

Diplomacy with colleagues and external clients

Sense of urgency.

Producing high-quality work within very tight time limits
